2015 Briteleaf Golf: To celebrate our 23rd year, we hosted intoxicated swimming tryouts. Our captain, Harry Mitchell completed the underwater certification. Since everyone was too drunk to hit the green on our Par 3 closest to the pin challenge, the money was donated to the Support the Troop / Scholarship Fund.
2015 Robert and Judy Rudy Pig Roast: Fireworks and Fishing! Everything thing a Goodtimer boy needs. Robert and Judy, thanks for sharing your home with us.
2015 Fred Tee Open: Bud Lebar was the worst of the best. Winning him his second Blue Jacket. With the perfect weather, fine food,and good friends, the whole afternoon was Fred approved.
2015 Wounded Warrior Softball Game Date: October 9th Where: Mid-American Ballyard The donation to enter the park is $10. Schedule: 6:30 pm are the opening ceremonies and all Veterans will be asked to walk out on the field. 7:00 pm the WWAST play a softball game against First Responders. 9:00 pm the WWAST play a softball game against a hand picked Cincinnati All Star Team. It will be a night to remember. Bring a handkerchief.
2015 Ghost of Gettysburg Tour: Date: October 24th Where: Gettysburg If you are interested in staying at a genuine Haunted House. We will visit Gettysburg where the souls of 1000 of dead soldiers will creep into our bones and then we are drinking Absinthe and staying in a Haunted House. Weekend Trip. Up on Friday and return on Sunday…. We will be staying in an old farm house built in 1831. All of the rooms are full in the farm house. We still have 5 rooms held at the Quality Inn Suites. If you do not reserve your room by Friday, we will be canceling the reservation. The cost is $300 for both nights. Deposit due at the meeting.
2015 FCCC (Fristoe Catering Chili Cookoff): Date: November 7th Where: Arts Center @ Duhnam Park 1945 Dunham Way. This year we will raise money to help restore the The Arts Center at Duhnam! This will no longer be a BYOB party. We will have beer booths with Bud Light, Miller Lite & Yuengling. Also looking to get a few craft beers if possible! Also there will be an fee paid at the door.
$12 Entry fee, $20 per couple
$7 Entry if you make chili, $10 per couple if you make chili
$7 if you just come for the late night band starting at 7pm
2015 Bengals Bowling: Date: November 8th Where: Heid’s Lanes. Time: 1:30 PM The Moeves are taking all challenges this year. There will be cards and bowling games. Lanes for the kids. This is an appetizer and dessert kind of event. A -M: Appetizer and N – Z: Dessert. Cost: $11.
2015 Texas Hold-Em Tournament: Date: November 20th Where: VFW on Brownsway. Registration at 6:30 PM. Cards are dealt at 7:00 PM. Buy-In is $30 ($25 poker / $5 split the pot). Drinks available through the VFW Canteen. We will also be celebrating the memory of John Bohlander who was and always will be at our final table.
2015 Support Our Troops Fundraiser: Date: November 25th Where: Quaker Steak and Lube. Time: Noon – 10:00 PM Come and join us on the biggest party night of the year. Live Music. Start the holiday season off right with yout GT family. No flyer needed this year. Just tell your waiter/waitress to put the proceeds to the GT Support Our Troops fund.

2015 Family Christmas Party: Date: December 6th Where: VFW on Brownsway Time: 4:00 PMJoy to the world! Come and celebrate with us. Things we got covered: Santa. Pizza. Beer. Things we need: Desserts. Music. Bring a gift for Santa.
2015 Holiday Dinner Party: Date: December 9th Where: StoneCreek @ Montgomery Time: 6:00 – 6:30 Half price martinis. Dinner at 7:00 PM. Dining options include : Applewood Smoked Bacon Salmon, Chicken Calopppini, Blackened Mahi – Mahi, Baby Back Ribs, New York Strip Steak. $38 entrees. Limit 72 people. Contact Kenny Brandt.

2016 33rd Ski Trip: Date: January 17th – 20th Where: Seven Springs. $100 deposits at the meeting. GT Member Price: $400/$440 Non Member Price: $410/$450. Package includes lodging, 2 dinners, 3 buffet breakfast, cocktail hour, overnight ski check, and lift tickets. Balance due by 12/03/2015. We are looking to have a bus this year. 2016 MidWinter’s Ball: Date: February 20th Where: Mill Course The theme for this year’s MidWinter’s Ball is Dress your Decade. Travel through time as we begin in the 1950’s and travel through the year 2010 with music, food, drinks. Dress in your era! Prizes for the most authentic. We will have a Prime Rib buffet dinner and a full bar. $100 / couple
2016 Orange Beach Bash: Date: June 18th – 25th 2016. Tom and Kathy Ashpaw will share details as they develop.
Committee Reports:
- Scholarship
- The next scholarship meeting will be October 14th @ Soccer City @ 6:30 PM. We will discuss the application process, selection committee, and funding model.
- Support our Troops
- We are looking for contact information for other soldiers. Send to Ren Large.
- We will be packing boxes for local soldiers on Monday, October 12th at Eli’s Sports Bar in Ross, beginning about 7:30. All together, as of now, we have 6. Our theme this month is holiday stuff along with the normal snacks and goodies, plus personal hygiene products.
- Foundation
- Don’t forget to select the Goodtimers Foundation as your Amazon Smiles Charity.
- The Freedom Ride donations have been approved and will be distributed. Contact Jim Wray if you would like to be part of the presentation team.
- We made a donation American Alzheimers Association.
- We will be delivering our Hamilton County donations on October 13th @ 9:00 AM.
- Athletics
- GT Pop and GT Kids will begin soccer on November 4th. If you have a child / grand childreninterested in playing, contact Thomas Scherz.
