Secretary Report : This year has been a big year of growth and change for our club.  While facing the trials of COVID, we were able to continue meeting in person and virtually.  Reminding us of how important each of us to one another and how important that time together can mean during these challenging times.

Part of our growing process was to make our club an all-inclusive club.  Yes, women are welcome to join now has full members with all of the privileges include.  The goal is to make this club and the general meetings more family friendly.  So, this year’s memberships are couples memberships and will include both you and your spouse or significant other as full members.  We are hoping this will bring some fresh ideas, events, and fun back to the Goodtimers.  The cost of a couples and individual memberships are $75 for the year.  This entitles you and your other to attend all of the General Meeting (beer and dinner included), voting privileges, eligible to win Queen of Hearts, and access to all of the club sponsored or Co-Pay events.  We hope to see more old but new faces around this year.  We are starting with welcoming everyone to our General Meeting in January for a new member sign up and orientation.  Then to keep the family theme going in February, we thought it would be fun to have a family Chili Cook-Off!  Whose family has the best chili in the club?  Look for new themes and locations for the General Meeting this year starting in March.

The next change for our club is the re-structuring of the Goodtimer’s Foundation.   The Foundation was started over 20 years ago to organize the donations from our very first Freedom Ride after the 9/11 Steel.  Since then we have donated over $750,000 to local charities and causes.  This creates a lot of work and involves a lot of time and until we get more active participants we have limit the foundation to only running the 911 Steel, Support our Troops, and the Scholarship funds.  We won’t continue to actively seek out charities to donate to.  The Foundation has been a lot of work over the years and we want to give out a major thank you to Jimmy Wray for keeping it organized for so long.

Next, I would like to thank Mike Behr for his many years as Treasurer.  The club has earned over $60000 in investments under his supervision and has provided many free and discounted events to all of the members.  We have started a Scholarship fund, Support our Troops fund, and 911 Steel fund under Mike’s tenure.  Mike will continue on this year as Vice-Treasurer as Sarge takes over as Treasurer bringing our funds into the digital age.

So I am looking forward some exciting events for next year.  We are heading to Seven Springs for your 39th anniversary, looking forward to a White Water Rafting trip and motorcycle ride in West Virginia, another great Mystery trip is scheduled.  Plus, whatever new ideas come forward.

Invite your friends, couples, and families to join up this January and join us at our Open House on January 6th.
