Champ of the Month:  Congratulations to Josh Glaser on winning the Ohio Division 1 State Football Championship with St. Xavier High School.

2016 Family Christmas Party:  Merry Christmas to everyone.  A special thanks goes out to Tony Glaser and his elves, Sarge Shearer and Pops Scherz for organizing the food.  We are still seeking a full time children’s choir director.img_5227

2016 Adult Christmas Dinner:  If we only see each other, one time a year, this would be the night.  The love and friendships shared with each other is what makes our group a celebration of life.  Thanks to all the organizers, the Choir Director, and the DJ.  We traveled through the 50s, 60s, and 70s.  Next year we are starting in the 80s.

2017 34th Seven Springs Ski Trip:  Date:  January 15th – 18th Where:  Seven Springs, PA  The General Meeting is our final meeting before departure.  If you still need to pay our balance, borrow equipment, or organize your ride then this is the meeting for it.  Since the Bengals won’t be in the playoffs this year, you can leave all your Who-Dey gear at home.

2017 Special Olympics Ski Day:  Date:  January 26th  Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM   Where:  Perfect North Slopes Sign up to help out.  The goodwill is rewarding enough, but the free ski passes afterwards help.  Look for a Glaser or Rudy when you get there.  Sponsor:  Robert Rudy

2017 Celebrity Bartender:  Date: February 4th  Time:   Where: Tyme Out  Now that the holidays are over, join us for some beer and hard liquor.  Winter is almost over. Sponsor:  Ren Large

2017 Cyclones Hockey:  Date:  February 22nd Time:  7:30 PM  Where:  US Bank Arena.  Cyclones v. Wichita Thunder.  Fans 21+ can enjoy $1 cans of beer plus fans in attendance will receive a Coffee Tumbler.  Cost:  $15.  Sponsor:  Thomas Scherz

2017 Curling:  Date:  March 4th  Time:  6:00 PM  Where:  Indian Hill Winter Club Curling is back!  Looking forward to a night on the rocks.  Sign up at the meeting.  Cost:  $30 / player Sponsor:  Steve Hamm 

2017 Spiral Stakes:  Date:  March 25th  Where:  Turfway Race Track Join us for a a family day at the track.  Sponsor:  Tom Scherz

2017 Keeneland:  Date:  April 15th   Where:  Keeneland  We have the bus organized and now we need 50 couples to fill it.  There will be a sign up at the meeting.  The cost is: $130 / couple.  Price includes bus, beer, pop, wine, water, food at tailgate, and Reserved seating inside. Food and drinks inside Keeneland on your own. Then food and drinks back at tailgate after racing. Full payment due in February.  Sponsor:  Jason Wullenweber

2017 Derby Days (Blue – Grey Game) :  Date:  May 6th Time: 4:00 PM Where:  Soccer City .  The Blue Team leads the series 3 – 2, but the Grey Team is filling their ranks.  This should be a good one this year.  Sponsor:  Thomas Scherz

2017 Rolling Thunder :  Date:  May  Where: Washington DC   More details are coming.  Sponsor:  Jim Wray

2017 White Water Rafting and Zip Line:  Date:  June 14th – 18th    The Motorcycle club will be leading us into West Virginia.  We will be staying in Beckley, WV on Wednesday and Thursday ($101 / night) and at Adventures on the Gorge on Friday and Saturday night.  ($180 / person).  White water rafting ($164) or Zip Line on Saturday. ($99).  Cabins have hot tubs and Adventures on the Gorge has restaurants, bars, and live music each night.  $150 deposit and firm commitment due at the January meeting.

2017 Perry Park Golf Trip:  Date:  July 16.  $50 deposits due in March.

2018 Australia / New Zealand: Thinking January 2018 at least 2 weeks Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand. Anyone interested can email Theresa Blaylock at blaylock@fuse.net.  Meeting for anyone interested sometime after the holidays. Sponsor:  Kenny Blaylock

    • Packing boxes for local soldiers on Monday, January 9th at Elis Sports Bar in Ross, beginning about 7:30.

    • We donated to the Children’s Home of Cincinnati in December.
    • We donated to Dave Lodder’s Christmas Toy Drive in December.

New Business:

  • Super Bowl squares are for sale at the meeting.  $5 per square.
  • Membership Drive!  Push for new members to start in January.  2017 dues are due.
  • Penny Koenig Fryman and Sherrie Bley will be joining us from the Children’s Home of Cincinnati.
