2017 Curling:  Amazing to see some of us can still get down that low! Great to have some help from the next generation.

2017 St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Proud to have the 911 Steel Monument in the Parade.  It brought out a few old school members.

2017 Spiral Stakes: Life on the rail.  Thanks to Pops Scherz for sharing his restaurant with us.  It was an amazing day.  The weather was fantastics, kids were running every where, and we had the best seats in the house.  Look for Fast and Accurate in the Derby.

2017 911 Steel Country Music Marathon w/ Kaitlyn Baker & Friends:  I think we are putting country music on the map here in Cincinnati.  Big thanks to the bands, the Pirate’s Den, and to us.  We are proud to come together and start something good.  Update at the meeting.

2017 Cincinnati Reds Opening Day Parade:  We finished off the weekend with a parade.  The 911 Steel Exhibit was entered in the Findley Market Opening Day parade for the 2nd year in a row.  The towers shined bright.  Bright enough to be seen on tv.  Anybody DVR the parade?

2017 McCabe Lumber Fishing:  Date:  April 7th, 8th, and 9th Where:  Lake Cumberland Good luck on the pond.  No Gilligans.  No side bets.  No beer before liquor.  

2017 Master’s Party @ Fristoe Cabin:  Date:  April 9th  Time: 1:00 PM   Where: Fristoe Cabin  This is a must not miss party and it only gets better every year! Tv’s everywhere so you don’t miss the action. There is relaxing and sunbathing in the driveway with a 46″ tv, gambling on enything at the bar with 2 60″ tv’s and a 63″ upstairs with chipping for dollars out back. We also have kids running and playing in the fenced in yard. This is truly a family gathering and I strongly suggest staying around for the official “Masters Party @ Fristoe Cabin Award Ceremony”.  Costumes are always welcome and encouraged!!! Anything golf related or masters imitated. It is a BYOB party, food is provided by The Fristoes and are selected by lst years green jacket/green dress winners.  Sponsor: Bud Fristoe

2017 Keeneland:  Date:  April 15th   Where:  Keeneland  Go baby go.  Full bus with beer, pop, wine, water, food at tailgate, and reserved seating inside.  Karaoke optional.   Sponsor:  Jason Wullenweber

2017 Derby Days (Blue – Grey Game) :  Date:  May 6th Time: 4:00 PM Where:  Soccer City .  Kentucky Derby meets Club Derby, Come and support your side. This is the one time our members go head to head to win the coveted Rudy Cup.  Pizza and Beer provided.  A – M: Snacks N – Z: Desserts  Sponsor:  Thomas Scherz

2017 Relay for Life :  Date:  May 13th Time: 4:00 PM Where:  Colerain Park .  We will be serving the survivor dinner and donating a lottery tree. Donations accepted at the meeting.

2017 Rolling Thunder :  Date:  May 24 – 29  Where: Washington DC  Room info for DC:  We will be leaving on Wednesday, May 24^th from Bob Evans, Staying at the Microtel in Buckhannon, WV, Phone 304 460-2525, $89.99 per night).  Ask for Shawna.  To get the group rate tell them the reservations are under my name.  In DC we are staying at the Holiday Inn, Rosslyn, the 25^th, 26^th and 27^th, Phone 703 807-2000, ext. 2222.   When making the reservation tell them the block code is GRT.   Also, the room rate, $144 includes breakfast.  If you don’t want breakfast it’s $134.  Let them know when you register.   Here is the hotel information in Frostburg on the return leg home.   Name of Group : Goodtimers Rolling Thunder  Group Code : CTR   (can be entered at hamptoninn.com) Rate : $114 + tax. Booking : Individual Pay / Individual booking.  Arrival : May 28, 2017 Sunday, 1 night.  Rooms : 8 rooms (2 Queen Beds). Cut Off Date: Rooms go back into inventory April 28, 2017 (rates will increase after the date)   Sponsor:  Jim Wray

2017 White Water Rafting and Zip Line:  Date:  June 14th – 18th    The Motorcycle club will be leading us into West Virginia.  Final payments due at meeting.  Cabins have hot tubs and Adventures on the Gorge has restaurants, bars, and live music each night.  Sponsor:  Mike Behr

2017 Night Golf :  Date:  June 2nd Time: 9:00 PM Where:  Robin’s Nest .   Dinner and golf.  Details to come. Sponsor:  Kenny Blaylock

2017 Freedom Ride:  Date: August 20th Time:  Where: Chan Gailey VFW  The date this year is Sunday, August 20^th.  Not much to report at this time.  Probably not much will be changing.  We will have our first organizational meeting on April 13^th.  Start thinking about raffle baskets.

2017 Scholarship Golf Outing:  Date: September 8th Time:  Where: Circling Hills  Mark your calendar.

2018 Australia / New Zealand: Who wants to go down under?  Thinking January 2018 at least 2 weeks Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand. Anyone interested can email Theresa Blaylock at blaylock@fuse.net.   Sponsor:  Kenny Blaylock

• Scholarship
  • This year’s Legacy Scholarship will be in honor of Steve Moeves.  We will award four $1000 scholarships.  All of the applications have been received.

• Support our Troops
  • Packing boxes for 19 local soldiers on Monday, April 10th at Elis Sports Bar in Ross, beginning about 7:30.
  • We need coffee, filters, sugar and creamers…..all kinds of snacks, gum and mints….shampoo, deodorant (non-aresol) razors and toothpaste….drink mixes, books, games and jokes….instant oatmeal, granola bars, boxed cereal….toilet paper, warm socks, and Red Hot sauce…whatever you can think of….if we get it, we send it. But, we are also going to need some help with cash to cover postage, and to help buy stuff to put in the boxes.
• Foundation
  • We approved a Flag Sponsor for the Jeffrey G. Hoeh Memorial Golf Scramble.
  • We approved a donation for Gretchen Siegmund.
  • We approved a donation to the Dine N Donate for Ross Police Chief, Darryl Haussler.
  • Flamingo donation to Foundation received.
  • Don’t forget to select the Goodtimers Foundation as your Amazon Smiles Charity.

  • 100 Coats and 100 hoodies!  We are putting together a coat drive for the Children’s Home of Cincinnati.  So, if you have anything, instead of Goodwill, hold on to it until Fall.
