2017 St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Proud to have the 911 Steel Monument in the Parade. It brought out a few old school members.
2017 Spiral Stakes: Life on the rail. Thanks to Pops Scherz for sharing his restaurant with us. It was an amazing day. The weather was fantastics, kids were running every where, and we had the best seats in the house. Look for Fast and Accurate in the Derby.
2017 911 Steel Country Music Marathon w/ Kaitlyn Baker & Friends: I think we are putting country music on the map here in Cincinnati. Big thanks to the bands, the Pirate’s Den, and to us. We are proud to come together and start something good. Update at the meeting.
2017 Cincinnati Reds Opening Day Parade: We finished off the weekend with a parade. The 911 Steel Exhibit was entered in the Findley Market Opening Day parade for the 2nd year in a row. The towers shined bright. Bright enough to be seen on tv. Anybody DVR the parade?
2017 McCabe Lumber Fishing: Date: April 7th, 8th, and 9th Where: Lake Cumberland Good luck on the pond. No Gilligans. No side bets. No beer before liquor.
2017 Master’s Party @ Fristoe Cabin: Date: April 9th Time: 1:00 PM Where: Fristoe Cabin This is a must not miss party and it only gets better every year! Tv’s everywhere so you don’t miss the action. There is relaxing and sunbathing in the driveway with a 46″ tv, gambling on enything at the bar with 2 60″ tv’s and a 63″ upstairs with chipping for dollars out back. We also have kids running and playing in the fenced in yard. This is truly a family gathering and I strongly suggest staying around for the official “Masters Party @ Fristoe Cabin Award Ceremony”. Costumes are always welcome and encouraged!!! Anything golf related or masters imitated. 2017 Relay for Life : Date: May 13th Time: 4:00 PM Where: Colerain Park . We will be serving the survivor dinner and donating a lottery tree. Donations accepted at the meeting.

Ask for Shawna. To get the group rate tell them the reservations are under my name. In DC we are staying at the Holiday Inn, Rosslyn, the 25th, 26th and 27th, Phone 703 807-2000, ext. 2222. When making the reservation tell them the block code is GRT. Also, the room rate, $144 includes breakfast. If you don’t want breakfast it’s $134. Let them know when you register. 2017 Freedom Ride: Date: August 20th Time: Where: Chan Gailey VFW The date this year is Sunday, August 20th. Not much to report at this time. Probably not much will be changing. We will have our first organizational meeting on April 13th. Start thinking about raffle baskets.

- Packing boxes for 19 local soldiers on Monday, April 10th at Elis Sports Bar in Ross, beginning about 7:30.
- We need coffee, filters, sugar and creamers…..all kinds of snacks, gum and mints….shampoo, deodorant (non-aresol) razors and toothpaste….drink mixes, books, games and jokes….instant oatmeal, granola bars, boxed cereal….toilet paper, warm socks, and Red Hot sauce…whatever you can think of….if we get it, we send it. But, we are also going to need some help with cash to cover postage, and to help buy stuff to put in the boxes.
