2016 Fred’s Tee Open:  What a great day! Perfect weather, lots of friends & family.
Special shout out to Mike Behr & Tony Glaser for organizing, Tom “Pops” Scherz & Jim Wray for grilling, Robert Rudy for the “Fabulous Prizes” and everyone for coming out to participate. It really means a lot to me.   Our winner of the ‘Blue Jacket’ this year is Barry St Clair with a score of 73!! (Par is 71!….yeah, he’s THAT good!). 2016 FC Chili Cookoff:  Congratulations to Becky Rellar for having the #1 chili at this years Chili Cook Off!, winner of the Left Handed Ladle Award, and bragging rights for a lifetime.

2016 Riverhouse Roast:  Good time watching the river roll by while drinking beer and listening to the fire.

2016 Goodtimer Bowling:   Date: November 6th Where: Heid’s Lanes  The cost is $11 for adults and $6 kids.  The time is from 1 pm – 4 pm.  A – M : Snacks and N – Z: Desserts.  Sponsor : Ralph Sparks

2016 UC Football v. Memphis :  Date: November 18th Where: Nippert Stadium.  Tickets are $34.  Final check at the November meeting.  We will tail gate at the usual location on Langsam garage.

2016 Support our Troops Thanksgiving Fundraiser:  Date:  November 23rd  Where:  Quaker Steak and Lube  Join us at Quaker Steak where 20% of our tab goes to the Support our Troops Fund.  This is an all-day event.  Stop by for lunch or dinner.

2016 Day After Thanksgiving Golf:  Date:  November 25th Where:  Circling Hills  Time:  11:00 AM Final sign up at the meeting.

2016 Family Christmas Party:  Date: December 10th Where: Knights of Columbms (KoC) 3144 Blue Rock Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45239  Sign up at the meeting.

2016 Adult Christmas Dinner:  Date:  December 15th Where:  Winton Wood Mill Race Banquet Center Time:  6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.  Cocktails 6 to 7 followed by dinner.  Bar closes at 9:30. Live DJ. $45 / person.  Menu includes:  Prime Rib and Chicken Pecan, vegetable medley, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, rolls, coffee, tea etc.

2016/2017 New Years Eve:  Date: December 31st Where:  Red Rose in College Hill Time:  TBD $25/Person.  Includes Room, Pizza, Beer, Wine, and Favors.  Payment must accompany sign up.  Reservations due by 11/15/16

2017 34th Seven Springs Ski Trip:  Date:  January 15th – 18th Where:  Seven Springs, PA

G/T Member Price – $400* Regular Room – Slope View $440*
Non Members – $410* Regular Room – Slope View $450*
Package includes lodging, 3 nights, 1 dinner, 3 buffet breakfast, cocktail hour, overnight ski check and lift tickets for Sunday at 4:00 through Wednesday 7:00.

I need $100 per person, $175/ BUS   Make check payable to Robert Rudy.

DEPOSIT DUE: Oct. 6
The balance of the money for the trip must be paid to me by 12/01/16.

If you can’t make the October meeting, call and send a check. Make check payable to Robert Rudy, indicate how many people, slope view, etc. and who the check is for.
Cancellations: 30 Days prior to arrival: No Refund on deposit.

2017 Curling:  Date:  March 4th  Time:  6:00 PM  Curling is back!  Looking forward to a night on the rocks.  Sign up at the meeting.  Sponsor:  Steve Hamm 

2018 Australia / New Zealand: We don’t have exact date set but thinking January 2018 at least 2 weeks Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand. Anyone interested can email Theresa Blaylock at blaylock@fuse.net

Committee Reports:

  • Scholarship
    • Next Planning Meeting: December 2016.  We will need to quickly revisit the application form and make any revisions before publishing.
  • 911 Steel
    • Our next event : ???
    • Next Planning Meeting: November 5th 1:00 PM @ Cross Roads
  • Support our Troops
    • Packing boxes for local soldiers on Monday, November 14th at Elis Sports Bar in Ross, beginning about 7:30.  We need Christmas stuff.
    • We will be participating in the Adopt a Vet Family again this year.
  • Foundation
    • We would like to vote on a donation to Shared Harvest coming from the GT Foundation.  Sponsor : Flyman
    • We would like to vote on a donation to Trevor’s Road to Recovery from the GT Foundation.  Sponsor:  Ren Large
    • Don’t forget to select the Goodtimers Foundation as your Amazon Smiles Charity.

New Business:

  • The 2016/2017 Budget is approved and available at the meeting.
  • The Board is proposing the following Bylaw Revisions.  Please review and comment as necessary.  The entire Bylaws can be viewed here.
    1. NAME – Change Name: Mt. Airy Goodtimers Athletic and Social ->  Goodtimers Athletic and Social
    2. ARTICLE III – All members are Voting members: Remove non-voting member statutes.
    3. ARTICLE III – No Application Fee: Remove Application Fee
    4. ARTICLE IV – Consolidate Secretaries: No longer have a recording and corresponding secretary and just have a secretary
    5. ARTICLE V – Board of Directors: Adjust offices held on the board.
    6. ARTICLE VI – Elections: Adjust months to be more in sync with our modern calendar.
    7. ARTICLE VII – Order of Business: Remove Sign Up sheet and change reading of minutes to reading of newsletter.
    8. ARTICLE XII – Change the committee structure to make it more current.
    9. ARTICLE XIV – We need to remove voting shares, mandatory requirements for voting, and need to include information on how a proposal travels from BOD to General Vote.
    10. ARTICLE XV – Remove probationary period.
