Saints of the Month:  This month’s Saint of the Month is the Blaylock family for choosing the Goodtimers Foundation as recipient of donations in honor of Bob.   To date the Foundation has received approximately $2000.   Each disbursement will be made in honor of Bob Blaylock. 

2016 McCabe Lumber Fishing Tournament:  We sent our fishing teams down to Lake Cumberland and they came back with over 150 lbs. of fish and more importantly, I am proud to share that none of them won the Gilligan Award.  Well done.11224362_1086740798015967_9001369295253419515_n (1)

2016 Spiral Stakes: With the wind blowing, I think I saw a few of the horses actually standing still.  This year’s winner and our representative in the 2016 Kentucky Derby is Oscar Nominated.  I would also like to thank Ren and Debbie Large for helping out.  We raised $100 for the GT Scholarship Fund at the Homestretch Bar and Grill.

2016 Red’s Opening Day Parade: The 911Steel movement is happening.  Thanks to all of the volunteers for the time and hard work devoted to this.  A special thanks to Kaityln Baker and the Fire Museum of Greater Cincinnati for partnering with us to deliver an unforgettable experience.

2016 Masters @ Fristoe Cabin: Date: April 10th Where: 5214 Erindale Dr Cincinnati Ohio 45238   The 11th Annual Masters Golf Party.  Now not everybody watches the golf. Not everybody even cares about the golf. I think we all can agree that it is just a reason to have a drink or seven on a Sunday! This is a BYOB party. In tradition with the Masters last year winners choose the food. Please make a day of this event. Fun golf outfits/costumes are encouraged but not needed. This is a kid friendly party! 2016 Keeneland: Date: April 16th Where: Keeneland We will be meeting at 8:15am at the SAMS on North Bend. Cost:$135 a couple, $67.50 single. Bus, beer,wine, pop, water, food, and reserved seating included. Event Coordinator: Tony Glaser 513-290-7133

2016 Night Golf: Date: June 3rd Where: Robin’s Nest  Details to follow.

2016 Orange Beach Bash: Date: June 18th – 25th 2016. Summer vacation in Orange Beach Alabama. We are staying at Harbour Place. There are two additional condo complexes very very near Romar Beach Condominiums and Sugar Sands Condominium. This is a make your own reservations event.Event Coordinator: Kathy Ashpaw

2016 Breast Feast: Date: June 19th – www.breastfestcincinnati.com

2016 Ken Anderson Celebrity Softball Game:  Date: July 14, 2016  Where:  Florence Freedom Ball Park.  The game benefits The Ken Anderson Foundation. Our mission is to establish in the Greater Cincinnati area; a supportive living community with housing options and a community center that serves as the hub for customized supportive services including life skills, job training, recreation, education, health and supported employment.  Tickets are $20.  If we purchase 15 tickets, they will promote us in the program guide, hang a banner, and throw in an authentic Bengal’s jersy. 2016 Freedom Ride: Date: August 21st Where:  Chan Gailey VFW on Brownsway We have the bands and catering locked in.  Look for planning meetings coming soon.

2016 Briteleaf: Date: September 17th, 18th, 19th Where:  Briteleaf Deposits due at July meeting

Committee Reports:

  • Scholarship
    • We have received a good number of applications and will be forwarding them to the selection committee for review.  The winners will be notified in May and award presented at the June general meeting.
  • 911 Steel
    • Our next event will be the Ross Township Open House on May 15th

  • Support our Troops
    • Packing boxes for local soldiers on Monday, April 11th at Elis Sports Bar in Ross, beginning about 7:30.
  • Foundation

New Business:

  • We are looking for prices from our merchandise vendors on t-shirts, long sleeves, golf shirts, hoodies, tattoos, window stickers, and wind breakers. If you know of anyone, get their name to the Board. Once we have a vendor we will put together options for the club members.
